Skilled Workers
To be selected as an immigrant worker, you must have the schooling and occupational
skills to facilitate your job integration. Other factors, such as language, age,
your spouse’s profile and whether or not you have children are also important.
Business Class
- Investors program: To come to Québec and participate in its economic
development by making a passive investment.
- Entrepreneurs program: To come to Québec to establish or acquire
a business.
- Self-employed worker program: To come to Québec to create your
own employment by practising a profession or trade on your own account.
Sponsorship
Immigration is a shared jurisdiction between the governments of Québec and Canada.
In the case of the family class (sponsoring a close family member), the person who
wishes to sponsor must satisfy the requirements of both governments.
International Students
To enjoy access to higher education in Québec, you have to meet the admission requirements
of the institution of your choice (no examinations required), demonstrate your ability
to finance your studies, and obtain the necessary entry authorizations required
by the immigration authorities.
Temporary Workers
Temporary foreign workers are extremely important to Québec. For Québec employers,
these workers represent an added value since, more often than not, their skills
are acknowledged to be in short supply. They can be strategic workers, such as executives,
researchers, specialists in the high-tech, health, culture and education sectors.
Their presence is crucial because they contribute to creating and maintaining jobs,
among other things. Given the needs of employers, strategic jobs receive special
attention.
Refugees
To be selected as a Québec governement-assisted refugee, your status must have been
previously recognized by the Government of Canada. Québec then assesses your application,
taking into consideration your capacity for integration.
